Birch Bay Village is undertaking the development of its first Community Plan, which is the process of developing consensus about what future the community wants, and deciding what is necessary to achieve it. The plan captures what community members value most about their community, and the shared image of what they want their community to become. It inspires community members to work together to achieve that future vision.
A Community Plan is needed to form a forward-looking strategic framework that gives the Birch Bay Village Board of Directors and staff the long-term comprehensive perspective necessary to make decisions about the future direction of the community and to address potential issues as they arise. The Birch Bay Village Community Plan will be crafted through a collaborative process that involves a wide variety of community members and stakeholders.
The Birch Bay Village Community Plan is anticipated to follow the timeline shown below. This schedule will be updated as needed throughout the planning process to reflect any changes.
Input and investment from residents will be an important component of the Community Plan process and it begins early with creating a baseline understanding of the community’s needs and future vision.
We ask that each member complete the community survey located at the link below. Your participation in this survey and upcoming Workshops and Surveys is vital to this process. If you would like to complete the survey on paper, you may pick up a copy at the Birch Bay Village office. Please return these to the office when completed.
