Board of Directors & Committees

The Birch Bay Village Community Club is presided over by an elected seven-member Board of Directors. We employ a General Manager and support staff to conduct the management, support and maintenance activities for the club. Additionally, several volunteer committees have been created to assist the Board with the manage the various BBVCC amenities and services.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors oversees all other committees. The Board listens to requests, concerns, and suggestions brought forward by the committees as well as BBVCC Members and acts in the best interest of the whole community.  The Board meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 2:00pm.

As per the Birch Bay Village By-laws Section
5.1.4 (b) Procedures for Election of Directors

“Between the fifteenth (15th) day of February and the fifteenth (15th) day of March, at five P.M. (5:00 P.M.), inclusive, any voting Member in good standing and having been a member for not less than one (1) year may file with the Election Committee a statement of his/her candidacy for election as a director of the Club for the term beginning immediately following the annual meeting of the Club held after the filing of the such statement. Each candidate shall be required to submit a biographical statement, including any facts that might be considered a conflict of interest, and a statement of objectives.”

There are two board positions whose terms will be up for election in June of 2024. If you have been a member for more than one year and would be interested in serving your community for a 3-year term, please provide a statement of intent by:

Architectural Control Committee (ACC)

The ACC is responsible for maintaining the aesthetics of BBVCC.  That includes ensuring that the Architectural Rules are clear and consistent. They are also responsible for approving construction projects submitted by BBVCC Members.  All construction projects as (including tree removals) must be approved by the ACC before prior to starting. Projects include but are not limited to: house renovations, auxiliary buildings, fences, sheds, floating docks, concrete work, paving, landscaping, etc. The ACC meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 10am.

Buildings & Grounds Committee

The Buildings & Grounds Committee provides the Board with advice and recommendations on matters pertaining to development, maintenance, improvements, usability, ADA compliance, safety, and repairs of the community buildings, parks, grounds, and fencing.

Election Committee

The  mission of the Election Committee is to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process, promote voter education, and contribute to the creation of an open election process where the voice of every citizen is heard and respected.

The purpose of the Election Committee (EC) shall initiate and conduct all Association elections and election-related events in a cooperative manner with Staff, Board and Committees to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the Association’s Annual General Meetings (AGM), Annual Budget Meeting (ABM) and Special General Meetings (SGM), and to ensure that elections are conducted in a fair and impartial manner.

Golf Committee

The Golf Committee oversees the maintenance  and beautification of the golf course in addition to researching ways to increase revenue for the course whenever and wherever possible. They meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 1pm.

Lakes & Drainage Committee

The Lakes & Drainage Committee assists the Board and General Manager in monitoring and managing Kwann and Thunderbird Lakes, the golf course ponds as well as overall Village drainage issues. They meet on the 1st Monday of the month at 7pm.

Marina Committee

The Marina Committee ensures that the BBVCC marina facility is maintained properly and used legally.  They inspect the facilities regularly looking for maintenance and compliance issues and forward suggestions on to both management and the Board. They meet the 4th Tuesday  of the month at 2:00pm.

Safety & Security Committee

The Security Committee works with the General Manager to  provide a safe & secure community for our members.    They monitor and suggest ways to help reduce  and deter speeding, vandalism, and theft.  They meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 3:30pm.
